DWECH is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team as a Practice Nurse. This role offers an excellent work/life balance, with hours from 8:30 am to 4:36 pm, Monday to Friday (part time applications considered) —no weekends or public holidays. We also provide the benefit of Salary Packaging. 

The DWECH Practice Nurse provides clinical nursing services and support within our Medical Practice. This role includes direct client care, health education, chronic disease management, preventive health, and support for practice operations. 

This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the practice and the delivery of high-quality and holistic client care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the wider community. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to our clients. 
  • Provide high-quality nursing care and support to patients in a general practice setting.
  • Conduct health assessments, chronic disease management, and wound care.
  • Assist with immunisations, minor procedures, and patient education.
  • Work closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.

About You: 

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse. Strong clinical skills and a passion for patient care. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work autonomously. 
  • Experience in a general practice setting is desirable but not essential 

Key Requirements: 

  • National Police Check or the willingness to obtain within employer specified timeframe. 
  • Working with Children Check or the willingness to obtain within employer specified timeframe. 
  • Must be willing to undertake training and professional development. 
  • Annual First Aid and CPR training where the role requires. 
  • Emergency Management training where the role requires. 
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License. 
  • Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with DWECH policy (includes but is not limited to COVID-19 (3) – seasonal influenza vaccination highly recommended).
