Are you passionate about improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities? We are seeking a dedicated Health Promotions Worker to join our team at DWECH an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) committed to delivering culturally safe and community-led health programs. 

As a Health Promotions Worker, you will develop, implement, and evaluate health education and promotion initiatives that empower our community to make healthier lifestyle choices. You’ll work closely with community members, Elders, and other health professionals to deliver programs focused on addressing health inequalities, prevent illness, and promote healthier lifestyles. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Plan and deliver culturally appropriate health promotion programs and campaigns. 
  • Engage with community members to provide education on health and well-being. 
  • Support community events, workshops, and outreach activities. 
  • Work collaboratively with health professionals, local organisations, and Elders. 
  • Collect and report on program outcomes to ensure continuous improvement. 

About You 

  • Passionate about improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. 
  • Strong communication and community engagement skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Experience in health promotion, public health, or community development (desirable). 
  • Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and health challenges. 
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. 

            Key Requirements 

            • National Police Check or the willingness to obtain within employer specified timeframe. 
            • Working with Children Check or the willingness to obtain within employer specified timeframe. 
            • Must be willing to undertake training and professional development. 
            • Annual First Aid and CPR training where the role requires. 
            • Emergency Management training where the role requires. 
            • Current Victorian Driver’s License. 
            • Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with DWECH policy.
