Dhauwurd-Wurrung Elderly and Community Health Service leads health and wellbeing for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community within the Portland area.
Our organisation supports Community members through access to culturally appropriate and effective health, spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing services.
Our purpose is to provide the highest standard of care through a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.
We aim to do this by providing services that are culturally safe and culturally appropriate, help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people live longer and enjoy a better quality of life, create employment and training opportunities, promote self-determination and community control, and strengthen capacity across Community, the organisation and individuals through greater knowledge, access, participation and engagement.
Our values are at the heart of how we work and how we support Community. They reflect our commitment to cultural safety, respect, connection and care.
